Concealed Pistol Licensing

The Algona Police Department provides Concealed Pistol Licensing (CPL) to Algona residents only.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are limiting access to the building.

If you are applying for an original license, meaning this is your first time applying or it has been over 90 days since your CPL has expired, you will need to schedule a fingerprinting appointment with the records department at 253-833-2743 or email policerecords [at] algonawa [dot] gov.  Print and fill out the application to bring to your appointment along with your driver's license. You will be required to wear a mask inside the building.

If you are applying for a renewal, please fill out the CPL application and email with a photo copy of your driver's license to policerecords [at] algonawa [dot] gov, or drop in the dropbox to the right of the front door of the police department building.

Paying for your CPL application will still be done through City Hall.  Payments can be made over the phone at 253-833-2897 or dropped in the City Hall dropbox with name, phone number, and what the payment is for.

-Original CPL $50

-Renewal CPL $34

-Late Renewal CPL (within 90 days late) $44

-Replacement CPL $12

***All late fees are waived for CPL's expired between March 1st and June 1st.  Normal CPL procedures and fees will resume on July 1st.***

It may take up to 30 days to complete the backgroung check before a license is issued.  Once issued, and appointment will need to be scheduled to pick up the license by calling 253-833-2743 or email the above address.  Bring your driver's license and wear a face mask to your appointment.
